Millennium Green, Garstang

Only a quick entry this time.

Garstang is a small town (population: approx. 5,000) in the Wyre borough of Lancashire which is off the A6 road between Preston and Lancaster. It's a nice place but there's not really a great deal there apart from one or two good shops and interesting things to see on the main drag. There are many nice walks round and about. Garstang has the honour of being the world's first Fairtrade town.

Anyway, the reason for this entry, dear reader, is that I went up there yesterday for a walk round the Millennium Green.

These are the Council Offices at Garstang:

A kingfisher-y sort of thing. The scrawl on it says "Garstang Music and Arts Festival 2005".

A few shots of the park and the river. It's a nice walk, but I was absolutely knackered by the time I got back!

Dams and flood prevention wotsits. Something must have happened before for them to put this sort of thing up - that I'm sure of.

As I said, only a quick entry. I hope you enjoyed it all the same.
